We are all called to share in the mission of Jesus Christ.
One of the ways a growing number of parishes are fulfilling Christ’s healing mission is through the
utilization of parish nurses. Parish Nursing is the professional practice of nursing in the care of a
congregation/parish and its community. It is ministry of healthcare, healing and caring. Parish Nurses
are involved in the parish Blood Drive, Blood Pressure Screening, health education, out-reach to the
sick, among other things.
The Sacred Heart Parish Nurses have been instrumental in making AED emergency defibrillators available
in both the church and school, and setting up training to ensure people are trained to operate them
correctly in the event of a cardiac emergency.
The nurses also maintain a 'lending library' of medical equipment, including walkers,
wheelchairs and other durable equipment (no electrical items).
Please contact the Parish Nurses through the parish office.
